Spa Hack - An uncommon office tool
Full disclosure: this is one of those “not very sexy but definitely practical and useful” hacks…enjoy!
We update our Menu at least twice per year -whether it is adding new services, taking away services, changing prices, etc. Each time we update the menu, I print 4 copies, two pages each on legal sized paper (to let clients peruse while waiting or during pedis, etc) and then I would pay about $4 per page to have them laminated. That’s about $65 dollars a year - just on menu laminating.
Then, my world changed. I bought a $30 laminator. Now, I don’t know why it never occured to me to buy one previously - I guess I thought they were a lot more expensive or that I wouldn’t use it. Now I’m a laminating fool! Of course, Amazon has a ton of options, and there is no need to spend a ton of money.
I have both of these laminators - one is at home and one is at the spa!
Laminator with extras - This set is about $40 and includes a cross cutter and an edger to round corners!
Amazon Basics Laminator - Inexpensive option with no frills but laminates like a champ and is about $20
Things you can laminate at the spa
I mean - what can’t you laminate? If it is paper, it can be laminated.
menus
cleaning check lists
closing check lists
more cleaning checklists
front desk duties
instructions for spa equipment
manager duties
discount signs
wifi-password signs
price lists
inventory lists
…the list goes on and on. I laminate stuff I never thought to laminate before. And it actually ends up saving time and paper. For instance, I print one cleaning checklist, we use Vis-a-Vis markers to sign off on items - then a squirt of Windex and we reuse.
I now laminate all of our signs that we use in the spa - forget those stupid plastic sign holders that crack and scratch! Get some table place card holders, laminate, and voila! Placecard holders, btw - are another hack! They come in so many fun and cute styles - you’ll definitely find something to match your decor!
I laminate business cards that I then tie onto the gift baskets I donate to fund raisers.
The list can go on and on. I mean, what can’t you laminate, after all?
I’d love to hear what you are laminating at your spa! Leave a comment below!
