I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it’s 2020, y’all. Oh -you did notice? Oh, okay…THEN WHY ARE YOU STILL USING A PAPER APPOINTMENT BOOK OR MAKING CLIENTS TEXT OR LEAVE VOICEMAILS TO SET APPOINTMENTS?!
This is the one of the hugest pet peeves of mine as a consumer, and I know I am not alone. If I want to make and appointment with you, I should be able to A) Go online at 11pm after book club with the girls and too many glasses of wine and a discussion about how we all need more “me time” or B) Call in the middle of the day and speak to a live human being and make an appointment.
If you are a spa with multiple employees, don’t make me leave a voicemail. Either hire a receptionist or get rid of the paper book and have people book online. And for you solos who only book through text? TEXT?! Texting you and waiting for you to text me back? Um… no… it’s not going to happen. Not to mention how invasive it can be to your personal time and days off when clients are blowing up your phone trying to book.
There are way too many free apps out there than manage online booking – there’s no excuse not to use them and make your life, and your clients’ lives, so much easier. Plus, the added bonus of requiring a credit card to book means you can set policies for late cancels and no-shows.
